Cloudreach
Europe's most receptive environment for expanding tech companies
Cloudreach founders James Monico and Pontus Noren recently made the decision to look at the international market in order to continue the phenomenal growth they had experienced over the previous two years. After undertaking rigorous research, the pioneering cloud computing startup discovered the Netherlands provided an environment highly suitable for the company.
The Netherlands not only provided the business-friendly environment Cloudreach desired, but also offered a cloud maturity and highly connected tech marketplace. The highly developed nature of the tech market also meant that their partners, Google and Amazon, among others, already had a presence in the country, meaning Cloudreach could continue their relationships with their partners Google, Amazon and Salesforce with ease.
Following their decision that the Netherlands would be a suitable investment destination, Cloudreach was contacted by the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), who played an important role in the transition of the company.
“We went to the Netherlands Embassy in London to meet people at the NFIA. They were friendly and gave us insight into location, regulatory frameworks and technical requirements for moving part of a business to the Netherlands. They put us in touch with contacts in Amsterdam who were incredibly helpful in finding us lawyers to set up the business and find us office space. They have been really good in terms of all of the practicalities of getting the operation off the ground,” said Noren. “Our investment [in the Netherlands] makes a great starting point should we consider further investment into Europe in the future.”
